Water is the driving force of all nature.

Ontario is home to many beautiful waterfalls, most people have heard of Niagara Falls but have you heard of Kakabeka Falls? Did you know that Hamilton, Ontario is known as the Waterfall capital of the world? There’s so much to discover here in Ontario! I’m making it our family goal to explore as many waterfalls as we can this summer.
We started the year off right this year and went on a family hike January 1st. I read about Mystery Falls and since it was less than an hour drive we decided to check it out. We learned an important lesson that day, always bring a map! It was supposed to be a short hike of only 1 kilometer, which would have been true if we went down the blue trail located right next to the small parking lot. Instead we ventured down the white trail and ended up on a three hour hike, but it was worth it! Since we took the long way, and decided not to cross the creek we ended up directly at the bottom of the waterfall.

Marshall was a trooper through the whole hike and powered through it, it definitely helps when you pack lots of water and snacks. Next up on our waterfall list is High Falls near Peterborough.
No, I have not heard about Kakabeka Falls! Have You heard about Helsinki? 🙂
Happy weekend!
